I wanted to start by thanking you for taking this creative journey with me. My hope is that you have found a deeper connection to your inner creative being along the way. This practice is a culmination of my years teaching art and hosting creative women’s circles and retreats. I have never really made my living as an artist. I have sold a few pieces along the way, but not many. I have tried my hand as an entrepreneur in the creative field, but it did not really take off. What I did do along the way is learn a lot! I learned a lot about myself, about the importance a creative outlet play in my own life. I learned a lot about creativity in general. I learned how to share that creativity with others and form a supportive community built around art as a self care practice. I have listened as others have shared their experiences, their creative insecurities, and their triumphs. It is a beautiful thing to witness. It takes vulnerability and courage to start down this path of creativity for self-care. It has been immensely rewarding in my life and I hope that you have discovered the same type of reward in your life as well.
Spend Time With Creative Friends
Chances are you have a few creative friends in your circle. Spend time being creative together. My friend Theresa and I love to plan creative activities together. This photo is her birthday in Ashville in an area that allows graffiti art. We played Graffiti Scrabble. Sometimes we just hang out and have a wine and art night at someone’s house.

Creativity inspires creativity so the more you surround yourself with creative people the more inspired you will likely be!

Be a Joiner
Sign up for a class or join a group. This photo is from a full moon women’s circle my friend Shannon hosted. We made full moon intention cards for ourselves. Most town have some sort of creative center that offers different classes or groups you can join. Taking a class is a great way to expand your creative skill, learn new techniques to play with, and meet other creatively inclined people to expand your creative circle.
Attend Art Events
Art festivals, gallery shows, and community art events are great for collecting inspiration. It is also a great way to support the arts in your community. My city has a monthly art walk where the downtown galleries and shops host new exhibits and artists each month. I love walking around and seeing all of the creativity coming out of my home town! I always leave feeling inspired to create!

Spend Time In Nature
Nature is filled with inspiration from colors to textures to shapes. Spending time observing the nature around you can be hugely inspirational!
Try taking a mindful nature walk. Slow down and notice the colors, shapes, and textures that surround you. Take pictures or small collections for future inspiration.
